Barsan Global Logistics expands its Gebze operation. Gebze Office, which up to now continued its activities as a customs clearance office under supervision of Anatolian Regional Directorate, is transformed to be Gebze Regional Directorate on the date 1 January 2009 considering the requirements of the region.
Gebze Regional Directorate performs all the transactions of the clients related to Gebze Oto İhtisas Customs Directorate, Gebze Petrokimya Ürünleri İhtisas Customs Directorate, İzmir Customs Directorate, Adapazarı Customs Directorate, Yarımca Kocaeli Free Zone Directorate and TÜBİTAK Free Zone.
Gebze is a city that includes not only the leading industrialists of Turkey but also of all the globe thanks to the Industrial Zones established within (TAYSAD, KOSGEB, GOSB, Dilovası Industrial Zone, Güzeller Industrial Zone etc.). Moreover to such a characteristic of the zone, it is an adjacent neighbour of İstanbul and accordingly a region where the industrialists from İstanbul perform intense investments by transferring their factories to the region due to environmental legal requirements.
As known, since Haydarpaşa Customs Directorate will cease operation in a close future, many shipping agents performing container transportation (MSC, Maersk, CMA, Belstar, Arkas etc.) have made agreements with private ports operating in Gebze region (Evyap, Yılport, Poliport etc.). Besides, in relation with railroad transport means, Köseköy will be the logistics centre of Turkey within 5 years according to the plans made by the Turkish state.
Barsan Global Logistics had understood that the region has been the point to be the heart of Turkey by means of logistics business within 5 years and accordingly, for to be dominant through the region, had constructed a new 10.000 m2 logistics centre in Adapazarı as an addition to the Gebze Logistics Centre which already used to operate having 50.000 m2 outdoors and indoors (customs and non customs areas) areas.
