GLOBAL CONTRACTS
UN GLOBAL COMPACT
We are committed to the United Nations Global Compact and Sustainability Principles.
We have signed UN Global Compact as it offers an innovative corporate responsibility approach proposing a universal principles in order to establish a common development culture for the whole world which is in an endless competition.
Ten universal principles of this contract which deal with the subjects of human rights, work, environment and fight with corruption, as well as the UN Sustainability Principles aiming at bequeathing a livable world to the future generations make the foundation of our management understanding.
PRINCIPLES OF THE GLOBAL COMPACT
UN Global Compact is an international initiative which brings together the leaders of the business world, the companies, the United Nations, labor unions and nongovernmental organizations for the purpose of supporting the universal environmental and social principles.
BGL signed this contract together with 35 other companies on 12 November 2007.
Ten articles of the Global Compact:
Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
Principle 2: Businesses should make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor.
Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labor.
Principle 6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
Principle 8: Businesses should undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
Principle 9: Businesses should encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally-friendly technologies.
Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all forms including extortion and bribery.
